Kalama Kim is a distinguished leader in Hawai'i’s real estate realm, boasting almost two decades of impactful contributions to brokerage firms, salespeople, and the industry. Currently serving as the President and Principal Broker of Hawaii Modern Realty, he takes a hands-on approach to leadership by training and coaching agents and management, as well as crafting the future of his company. Kalama has held pivotal roles, including 2023 President of the Hawaii REALTORS®, where he championed the interests of local real estate professionals, and 2016 President of the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®, showcasing strategic vision in navigating the unique challenges of Hawai'i’s market. His influence extends nationally, serving as a Director-at-Large for the National Association of REALTORS, and is currently a commissioner on NAR’s Culture Transformation Commission. Kalama is also an education instructor for his local board and spends much of his time mentoring, coaching, and training sales agents throughout the island of O'ahu. In 2023, he was recognized as Realtor of the Year by the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®, underscoring his unwavering commitment to excellence and positive impact on the local real estate community. Kalama Kim’s leadership, mentorship, and dedication continue to shape the trajectory of Hawai'i’s real estate landscape.

Prior to entering the Real Estate Industry, Kim spent over a decade in the banking industry working for companies such as Bank of America and City Bank. His last role in the industry was serving as Vice President of Retail Banking with City Bank. Supervising the Retail Branch locations and sales operations in Hawai'i.

Born and raised in Hawai'i, Kim lives on the island of O'ahu with his wife and 3 children. When not working he spends much of his time practicing yoga or teaching classes at CorePower Yoga, or hanging out at the local watering cheering for his favorite sports teams, and reminiscing about his time as a professional tennis player.
