Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Maki Eto attended Tamagawa University, where she received her MA Degree in Textile Design. Working in the textile industry for three years in Tokyo and Yokohama, she developed a strong work ethic and drive.
After moving to Hawaii in 1993, Maki fell in love with the islands and culture, working in the SCUBA diving industry for 10 years. She received her certification as a SCUBA instructor, eventually starting her own dive shop in Waikiki. Servicing clients and being responsible for their personal safety helped her to gain invaluable skills in customer service, along with a keen attention to critical details.
In 2007, Maki’s passion for working with people prompted her to pursue a career in real estate. Fluent in Japanese and English, her client list is diverse. She enjoys meeting new people and creating positive real estate experiences for them. Whether working with sellers or buyers, Maki’s philosophy is to earn a lifelong relationship with her clients by keeping their best interests in mind while helping them attain their real estate goals.
Maki’s personal passions include ocean activities and traveling. On the weekends, you’ll find her on or in the water, diving, spearfishing, surfing, stand-up paddling, or sailing. Her love for travel was instilled at a young age, traveling with her father, whose passion for art took them across Europe and Asia, and spending a year of high school living in England and France. Her appreciation for visiting distant lands and learning new cultures extended into adulthood. Maki has enjoyed all of her past travels, and her ideal vacation would be to SCUBA dive at the many distant lands she has yet to visit.
